The video showing a Ford Bronco spinning its tires while being towed revealed a mistake that could cause serious damage to the vehicle.

The footage was captured by Jacob Jett, who shared a video on his Facebook page showing the Ford Bronco spinning its tires as it was being pulled by a tow truck.

“He’s destroying that car. Brought a tow truck and didn’t use it… I hope the car owner sees this, because of course they’ll say they didn’t do anything. He’s dragging that car. The parking brake is on,” he commented in the video.

According to Tow Ratings, “towing or even driving with the parking brake engaged […] can easily damage the rotor or drum,” emphasizing that doing this even for short distances can create a real headache for the owner.

Additionally, dragging a car with the brakes engaged can also “crack the lining, cause the lining adhesive to fail, or […] separate it from the brake shoes or pads,” as noted by Tow Ratings.

While some users debated whether the vehicle’s towing setup was correct at all, a Ford dealership stressed that the Bronco can be towed this way safely, provided the parking brake is released and the transmission is in neutral.
